From 7 to 9 October 2026, the EPICURE community gathered at ACC Cyfronet AGH in Kraków for three days of hands-on work focused on improving the performance of high-performance computing (HPC) and (AI) applications.
At the “EPICURE Hackathon: Code Optimisation for HPC and AI Workloads”, teams brought their own scientific codes and AI workloads and worked alongside EPICURE mentors. Together, they identified bottlenecks, improved CPU and GPU performance, optimised training and inference pipelines, and explored profiling, parallelisation and scaling techniques. Participants also had access to JUPITER, Europe’s first exascale supercomputer, and Helios, one of Poland’s advanced computing systems.
The hackathon allowed participants to turn specific performance challenges into measurable improvements that could continue beyond the event.
