As part of a BSC AI Factory initiative, Deucalion welcomed researchers, entrepreneurs, start-ups and institutional representatives to the University of Minho’s Azurém Campus in Guimarães for a session dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced computing.
The opening session featured remarks from João Nuno Ferreira, Vice-President of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and General Coordinator of FCCN, Raul Fangueiro, Vice-Rector for Innovation at the University of Minho, and Ricardo Araújo, Mayor of Guimarães.
Teams from Deucalion, MareNostrum 5, and the BSC AI Factory presented opportunities enabled by supercomputing and AI, highlighting the infrastructures, services, and use cases developed within the AI Factory ecosystem.
The event concluded with a guided tour of the data centre hosting Deucalion, offering participants a closer look at how this infrastructure supports research, innovation and the resolution of societal challenges.
