Deucalion welcomed high-school students to its facilities at the Azurém Campus, University of Minho, during the INESC TEC Open Week 2026, held from February 2 to 6.
Through the activity “Supercomputação em ação: descobre o Deucalion!”, students explored the power of supercomputing and its real-world applications. The session combined hands-on demonstrations in high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI), allowing participants to interact with practical examples of how supercomputers process large-scale data and support scientific discovery.
The students also had the opportunity to engage directly with researchers, gaining insight into how supercomputing in Portugal contributes to tackling complex societal and technological challenges.
